In our adaptation practice we study the impacts of the climate crisis and help to develop measures to deal with associated risks and opportunities. We offer municipalities, businesses and governments concrete strategies and systems solutions to help them adapt to the climate crisis. We are a team of eight people working on research and consulting projects for a wide range of clients including a.o. the German government, the Federal Environment Agency, the European Commission, Municipalities and local governments, as well as Multilateral Financial Institutions, Philantropies and private business.

Your tasks
- You provide technical and conceptual support in consulting and projects
- You develop tailored support measures for national, local, and regional actors to strengthen their climate adaptation efforts
- You support the implementation and methodological development of climate risk analyses at various spatial levels and for different stakeholder groups
- You develop analyses and studies in the field of adaptation and resilience that help decision makers to put solutions into practice
- You organise workshops and other knowledge exchange and networking events (online and in person) and moderate these events to facilitate the co-creation of adaptation solutions
- You participate in and support project acquisition through research and proposal writing
- You take on coordinating and administrative tasks as part of your role as project manager
Your qualifications
- Diploma or master’s degree in political science, environmental science, geography, climate science, spatial planning, or comparable interdisciplinary fields of study
- At least two years of professional experience in the field of climate adaptation and/or (climate) resilience
- Experience in literature and data analysis, conducting interviews, and preparing studies, strategies, or project reports
- Knowledge of R, Python, QGIS
- Experience with methods for climate risk analyses, evaluation and interpretation of historical observation, climate model, and remote sensing data
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in climate modelling (micro- and mesoscale modelling, downscaling methods for GCMs, multi-model ensembles)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English, additional languages are an advantage
- Precise and structured working style with a high degree of self-organisation, a good eye for detail, as well as passion and creativity for exceptional solutions
