Project Assistant Business Development (m/w/d) (20 hours/week) – Berlin or remote (Germany) adelphi is the leading independent think-and-do tank in Europe for climate, environment and development. We are some 280 strategists, thought leaders and practitioners working at the local and global levels to find solutions to the most urgent political, economic and social challenges of our time. As a policy consultancy, we support a just transition towards carbon neutrality and sustainable, liveable societies. Our work is grounded in transdisciplinary research, evidence-based consulting and stakeholder dialogues. With these tools we shape policy agendas, facilitate political communication, inform policy processes and support decision-makers. Reconciling economic growth with climate protection and resource efficiency requires access to affordable and appropriate financing solutions. In many countries, however, markets and frameworks for green financial products and sustainable investments are underdeveloped. adelphi supports clients from politics, business and the financial sector in designing and implementing green financing instruments, both in Europe and in developing and emerging economies. PART TIME - BERLIN Your working field As a project assistant, you will support our team on the , a multiannual EU-funded project. The EU Directorate-General for International Partnership (DG INTPA) commissioned adelphi to support the relevant actors across the globe in the transition to a green and resource-efficient economy, thus contributing to a sustainable and effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). adelphi provides technical support, expertise and knowledge for the operation of two support offices, the SWITCH to Green Facility and the Water Facility. You will support the adelphi team working on this project and have the opportunity to collaborate with international experts, learn about the management of large international projects, and get insight into the European Commission’s development cooperation work. Your tasks - Communication with experts and general coordination - Expert management: contractual arrangements, travel organisation, timesheets, support for various tasks - Design and inception of missions: development of terms of reference, as well as expert search, evaluation and mobilisation - Invoice processing and monitoring implementation, including financial aspects Your qualifications - Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a Master's course, in the fields of business administration, law, public policies, European studies/policy/law, or social sciences - Interest in international development cooperation and in adelphi's fields of work - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Required: Written and spoken English at native or fluent level (C2) - Good command of French (asset) Required experience and skills: - Structured and meticulous approach to work with an eye for detail - Organisational and time-management skills, with an ability to manage several tasks at the same time and prioritise - Confident handling of MS Office applications, especially Excel - Experience with budgeting or with accounting Desired experience (assets): - Previous experience with project management - Experience with expert recruiting - Knowledge of EU procedures or internal functioning We offer… - adelphi_Impact You advance social-ecological transformation with impactful projects. - adelphi_Fit Free or discounted membership to the Urban Sports Club with more than 50 sports nationwide and in five European countries. - adelphi_Mobile A subsidized BVG company ticket including free transportation for passengers. - adelphi_Spirit An international and interdisciplinary team with a lot of passionate commitment for a future worth living.
