Climate Media Factory UG

The Climate Media Factory UG is a media lab originating from a love affair of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research e.V. with the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. The lab merges the expertise of climate scientists and media experts to allow for a media creation process resulting in scientifically sound and entertaining animation videos, documentaries, games, education tools, climate services and other web-based applications.

Within the recently started EUCalc project, which will help European decision makers find feasible decarbonisation pathways, the Climate Media Factory is responsible for the associated web application (see predecessors at and In this context we are looking for a talented web application developer.

The successful candidate will
  • implement responsive web applications and craft solutions for design and usability issues;
  • collaborate with graphic designers to create a state-of-the-art web front-end appearance;
  • collaborate with scientific programmers to interface model output and web application;
Suitable candidates
  • are self-reliant, proactive and customer-oriented;
  • have experience with state-of-the-art web application development and with concepts like usability, exploratory presentation, data visualisation;
  • have reliable project management and time management skills;
  • are proficient in English written and verbal communication.
  • A degree in computer science or in a related field is an asset.
  • Gamification experience and didactics expertise are additional assets.
