Student Assistant Remote Sensing and GIS (w/m/d)

WWF Deutschland

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is one of the world’s most important nature protection organizations. With projects in more than a hundred countries, our mission is to preserve the world’s biological diversity.

At the same time, we aim to strengthen people’s awareness of the need to deal responsibly with the natural resources that provide the basis for life itself – which also includes a sustainable economy. More than five million people support us by donating money or by becoming personally involved.

In most of our projects, GIS and Remote Sensing provide great insights that help our teams on the ground, by informing decision-makers, monitoring wildlife, understanding local geographies, among others. WWF Germany is one of the offices in the network which concentrate efforts on managing geo-data, purchasing satellite images, providing technical support and managing WWF’s ArcGIS online account.

To strengthen our Remote Sensing team in Berlin, we are looking for a suitable candidate preferably starting in March 2020 with 20 hours per week during the semester (potentially 40h per week during the semester break). The contract would initially go till June 2021.
