Field Biologist (m/f/d)

Our 180 employees offer services ranging from complete EU registration packages, general consultancy work to sophisticated GLP field studies. Our Field Department is looking for a Field Biologist or similar education.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

The candidate will be involved in various aspects of GLP field studies for registration activities for chemicals and plant protection products including:

  • Participation in GLP field studies for mammals and/or birds primarily in Europe: set-up of field trials, conduct of the field part, preparation of study plans, organization of permits, test site selection and communication with farmers, subcontractors and clients, application of plant protection products, evaluation of the results (including statistical analysis), etc.
  • The position offers the opportunity for a development towards taking over the responsibility of principal investigator or study director.
  • Participation in all phases of the different study types within the department.
  • Cooperation with other departments of RIFCON GmbH on all project levels
  • Development of new study types in the area of ecotoxicology

Your Qualifications

  • Scientific background in natural sciences such as biology, wildlife biology, or an equivalent discipline
  • Experience in field work and field methods with birds and/or mammals, or the will to acquire the required skills
  • Faunistic knowledge would be advantageous
  • Very good level of written and spoken English, additional languages would be advantageous
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team
  • Experience in GLP would be advantageous but not mandatory
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying study types and study schedules
  • Prepared to travel and stay away from home
  • Technical understanding would be advantageous
  • Talent for improvisation
