Researcher (m/f/d) for the project "BonaRes" (Soil as a Sustainable Resource for the Bioeconomy)

The mission of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a nationally and internationally active research institute is to deliver solutions for an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable agriculture –together with society. ZALF is a member of the Leibniz Association and is located in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Berlin-Lichtenberg). It also maintains a research station with further locations in Dedelow and Paulinenaue.

The ZALF contributes with several subprojects to the project "BonaRes" (Soil as a Sustainable Resource for the Bioeconomy), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Within this context, the Impact Assessment working group at ZALF develops methods and tools for sustainability assessments of agricultural soil management.

Starting as soon as possible and limited until 31.08.2021, we are offering a position as

Researcher (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

You support the preparation of scientific articles on the topic of sustainability impact assessment of agricultural soil management for publication in high-ranking journals. As a co-author, you will collaborate closely with other scientists, assisting in the evaluation of existing data, reviewing scientific literature and contributing own text passages to the joint publications.

In addition, your work will support the optimisation and further development of the content of an internet platform that provides scientists with methods and tools for the sustainability assessment of agricultural soil management options (www.bonares.de/sustainability).

In particular, you will:

• Review scientific literature on the topics of resource use efficiency, ecosystem services and rebound effects in the context of agricultural soil management
• Contribute to the preparation of scientific journal articles in close cooperation with your co-authors
• Create texts and infographics for the internet platform described above

Your profile:

• Master’s degree and ideally PhD in agricultural sciences, environmental sciences or a related field of study.
• Good interdisciplinary understanding of agricultural systems and soil systems, in particular within the context of ecosystem services and resource use efficiency
• Able to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
• Excellent writing style and enjoying writing scientific papers
• Solid publication experience
• Enjoying collaborating with co-authors
