We are looking for a

Senior Fundraising and Marketing Officer (gn)

to join our Berlin office.

ClientEarth is a growing organisation with powerful stories to tell about our work using the law to protect people and planet. As we continue to grow and seek new funding, we are looking to communicate our mission and potential in new markets, including Germany.

In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating public support in Germany for our work, both by establishing and enhancing brand awareness and by stewarding supporters to become vocal advocates and long-term donors.

You will provide German market support across our digital fundraising and marketing activity, including coordinating communications and fundraising campaigns, social media, website, email marketing, and supporter care functions.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by our Head of Marketing, Michael Haines.

Michael has taken a variety of communications roles at ClientEarth since he joined the start-up charity in 2009. He now develops and oversees the delivery of all aspects of ClientEarth’s marketing communications strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels. Prior to joining ClientEarth, he held a range of journalistic and editorial roles.

Main Duties

  • Day-to-day responsibility for our German-language social media channels and German website
  • Deliver campaigns (brand, lead generation, fundraising appeals) to engage and substantially increase our German supporter base
  • Create and deliver email marketing campaigns
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of our digital output
  • Offer advice to colleagues on digital communications and fundraising issues

Role requirements

  • A strong track record in, and passion for, digital marketing and/or individual giving and brand communication
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills and a proven ability to create content, and tailor content to specific audiences
  • Experience managing social media channels and developing engaging content for social and websites
  • Experience of responding to competing deadlines and managing multiple tasks and priorities in a busy communications or marketing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail - including spelling, grammar and editorial style
  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English and German
