As an IT Assistant in Berlin, you will be responsible for providing support to all staff in our Berlin office and assisting the Head of IT in the overall running of ClientEarth’s IT systems. Acting primarily in a first line support capacity, you will resolve issues in person, over the phone, email or via remote connectivity.

The role is varied and requires good client handling and communication skills, time management and multitasking. There will be opportunities to get involved in global IT projects and gain valuable experience that will help set you up for a career in IT.


  • Be the first point of contact and provide support to all staff in Berlin for IT queries
  • Basic troubleshooting of IT software and hardware problems including phones, laptops, mobile devices, conferencing equipment, and printers
  • Daily monitoring of the IT helpdesk dashboard
  • Setup of new staff accounts on IT systems, prepare new starters desks and devices
  • Provide IT Inductions and training 
  • Updating the IT Assets record


  • Experience in a customer service / customer facing role, or with assisting colleagues / users
  • IT Troubleshooting and basic networking experience
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory users and groups
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Windows operating system
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English and German


For full time roles, our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week to be worked in accordance with our flexible working time policy. Part-time roles are pro-rated according to the number of hours you work in a week.

25 days of annual leave and 10 public Holidays. We are also closed between Christmas day and New Year’s Day and do not take these additional days out of your leave allowance.
