Project Manager Geo Information Systems

Job description

  • Development of a digital solution based on open source resources

  • Development of a scalable software application with Python/Django based on an existing web application and API

  • Contribution to the conceptual and structural design of database models

  • Perform data analytics tasks - Work with and expand your knowledge of RESTful web services


Required experience

  • Min. 3 years experience in GIS

  • Experience in building spatial infrastructure for web map platforms

Required qualifications

  • Background in systems engineering, computing, geography or similar

  • Proficient in geographic data management

  • Experience in the development of GIS applications with libraries like OpenLayers, Leaflet or similar

  • Backend development skills (using Python web frameworks such as GeoDjango)

  • Familiarity with Geoserver, MapServer or similar

  • Good understanding of PostgreSQL

  • Familiarity with Git

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (desired)

  • Experience in deep learning, big data, ML, HTML, CSS and JavaScript (desired)

  • Frontend development skills (using frameworks such as Angular or React (desired))

  • Quick comprehension and a structured way of working

  • Language skills: excellent English, proficient in Spanish

The position is advertised as a full-time position. Workplace will be in Germany or Spain. Remote work possible. A valid working permit for the respective country is mandatory. Starting date as soon as possible.
