Our head office is located in Hirschberg near Heidelberg in Germany. Our 180 employees offer services ranging from complete EU registration packages, general consultancy work to sophisticated GLP field studies and various combinations of these elements.

Our Effect Modelling and Statistics team is looking for an ecological modeller / computational biologist (full time)

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Application of ecological models in the context of risk assessment for various organism groups exposed to chemicals
  • Results analysis and scientific reporting
  • Involvement in the development of existent and new models
  • Statistical evaluations e.g. of data recorded in studies conducted by our field department

Your Qualifications

  • Scientific background in natural sciences such as biology, geoecology, applied system science or an equivalent discipline
  • Very good level of written and spoken English, additional languages would be advantageous
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team
  • Experienced or interested in deepening your knowledge in:
    • The application of mechanistic models in an ecological or environmental context; e.g. (individual based) population models and toxicokinetic-toxicodynamic (TK/TD) models (GUTS or DEB)
    • R or a similar scripting language (e.g. Python)
    • Developing population models using a high-level programming language (e.g. C/C++, Java, C#)
    • Applying advanced statistical approaches to ecological/ecotoxicological data
