As a Controller (m/f/d) you will be part of a dynamic team consisting of employees in Denmark, Germany, Finland, UK and India. The team provides financial consulting and cost controlling for Ramboll’s Support organization (RSO) worldwide – IT, HR, Communication, Legal, Finance, Corporate HQ and Facility Management.

The team refers to Corporate Finance and works as a satellite team across time zones. You will refer to a Global Finance Manager and have a local manager assigned for local administrative and guidance purposes. Your workplace will be our office in Hamburg, Essen or Berlin, Germany. Some travel to Copenhagen or other offices should be expected.

You will get the opportunity to influence how you, your assignments and your area of responsibility develop and be a crucial differentiator for the success of the Global Support Operations working with controlling on both a strategic and operational level in close dialogue with the team and management in the functions.

Your primary activities in the job will be:

  • Execute activities like cost controlling, reporting and month-closing:
  • Global IT organization;
  • Local RSO organization (HR, Communications, Finance, FM)
  • in close collaboration with the rest of the GSSC team, situated in Denmark, Finland, India, Germany and UK
  • Run the financial project controlling, budgeting & forecasting
  • Deliver professional partnering, financial & application consulting to the Management in the support organisations, as well as to the employees.
  • Participate actively and lead meetings at annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
  • Cost analysis and input for business cases and agreements
  • Conduct monthly Introduction meetings to the new RSO staff in Germany & Denmark
  • Be a stand-in for the other members of the team

The position requires that you are able to work independently but also as member of the team and that you take responsibility for processes and development of the functions that the team covers. We expect you to have a relevant education e.g. Master’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Controlling or similar with focus in economics, finance or accountancy.

You have at least 1-year previous experience within business finance, where you have demonstrated ability to understand and communicate business financials to decision makers and understand the organization that you support.

Your strong knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint as well as fluent English (both written and spoken) is a prerequisite. Experience with PowerPivot, Power BI or Think Cell is an advantage.

To succeed in the job you need to be proactive and take responsibility, be able to work independently, take decisions and communicate these as well as accepting phases with "manual" work.

You need to be structured in your approach to your assignments, be able to document decisions and agreements and communicate results, cause and effects and financials to non-finance employees and be comfortable with the consulting part of the Controller role. You need to have integrity and authority and to be flexible at times when circumstances demand it. You also need to be able to handle pressure in busy periods and a good understanding of processes.
