Your tasks

  • Operational management of the research group “International Energy Research” at the Institute of new Energy Systems, including leadership and supervision of staff
  • Further development and design of research activities in decentralised, off-grid energy supply and rural electrification with renewable energies, Agri-PV solutions, sustainable mobility, and the Water-Energy-Food nexus for sustainable energy deployment in both urban and rural settings
  • Acquisition of public funding for international research projects in collaboration with the Institute's professors and staff
  • Management and organisational coordination of ongoing research projects in the research group
  • Further development of the Institute's network of national and international universities, research institutions, industry partners, and funding institutions in the field
  • Representation of the Institute in national and international committees and networks
  • Presentation of research results at relevant international conferences

Your profile

  • Completed academic university degree at Master’s level in a relevant subject, such as Mechanical Engineering, (Renewable) Energy Technology, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, (Technical) Physics or Industrial Engineering
  • Professional expertise, ideally with a PhD, in renewable energy systems for heating/cooling, electricity and mobility, gained in an international environment
  • Expertise in modelling and simulation of renewable energy systems, and in experimental analysis of energy systems in practical use, with relevant publications
  • Experience in designing, acquiring and coordinating research projects with industrial and scientific partners at a national and international level, as well as initial management experience
  • Organisational and communicative skills as well as the ability to work independently and in a structured manner
  • Very good written and spoken English, German language skills are advantageous
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad
