The mission of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a nationally and internationally active research institute is to deliver solutions for an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable agriculture – together with society. ZALF is a member of the Leibniz Association and is located in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Berlin-Lichtenberg). It also maintains a research station with further locations in Dedelow and Paulinenaue.

For the measurement of greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, H2O) in the field, the Isotope Biogeochemistry and Gas Fluxes working group is developing cost-effective GHG measurement systems and testing them in laboratory and field experiments.

We are currently looking for a student assistant (40 hrs/month) at location in Müncheberg and for field campaigns. The position is initially limited to 3 months, with the option to extend.

Your tasks:

• Co-development of the GHG measurement system in the laboratory
• Preparation of field campaigns with GHG measurements, vegetation surveys, drone flights
• Implementation of field campaigns
• Evaluation of laboratory and field data

Your qualifications:

• Enrollment at a university in the field of agricultural sciences, geography, geosciences or related disciplines
• Willingness to conduct regular field research campaigns
• Experience in using common Office programs and basic statistical knowledge
• German or European driving license (class B) (optional)
• English language skills
