The Department of Geography of the LMU is a globally recognized institution with innovative approaches in sustainability science.

There, the newly established chair for physical geography and nexus research assesses the complex interactions between water security, food production, energy security and nature at the global and macro-regional levels. Our group develops knowledge and tools to understand, monitor, and simulate the behaviour, features and evolution of the nexus as a complex system.

We are looking for you:

Science Communicator (m/f/x)

  • in Munich

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Content creation for (social) media contributions about published scientific articles, conference presentations or teaching events (summer schools, etc.)
  • Build a network for the chair in social media and interact with partners in social media
  • Develop new ideas for communication through our internet site (you will have support from our webmaster and graphic designer)

Your qualifications:

  • Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Geography, Environmental Sciences, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivation to work with social media
  • Capacity to express scientific content in short and easy-to-understand contributions
  • A high level of competence in written English and German
  • Knowledge in video, animations etc. is a plus

  • Remuneration depending on degree and qualifications up to E13 according to TV-L, part-time 90%. It is a permanent position, the first year will be a one-year contract with the possibility of extension.
