We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and communicative individual to join our team in Hamburg as
Trainee (m/f/d) – Climate Impact Assessment.
We offer participation in a 6-month trainee programme as an entry point into international climate policy and climate finance, as well as a flexible and open working surroundings in a dynamic market for climate change mitigation solutions.
Your tasks
- Participation in a 6-month trainee programme as an entry point into international climate policy and climate finance, accompanied by structured mentoring from our advisors
- Contribution to ongoing projects through research, analysis and technical support in areas such as international climate finance, national climate initiatives, approaches to estimate and monitor GHG emission reductions, and mitigation strategies in different sectors
- Support in the preparation of funding proposals for international donors and climate funds (e.g. Green Climate Fund, Global Environment Facility, Mitigation Action Facility)
- Introduction to collaboration with our international clients (mainly in the global South)
- Support of project management and business development activities
- Insight into the workflows of an advisory firm, including technical work, project management, and acquisition processes
- Internal and external training opportunities tailored to your development
Your Qualification
- Completed Master’s degree (or equivalent), preferably with a technical and / or environmental background (e.g. engineering, environmental sciences, ideally with focus on climate/energy)
- First relevant professional experience through internships, apprenticeships, or employment – ideally with exposure to international development cooperation and/or climate finance
- Basic knowledge of international climate policy, climate finance, or energy sector issues
- Quick comprehension and strong analytical skills
- Careful and reliable working style, very good knowledge of the fundamentals of scientific work
- Independent and solution-oriented approach combined with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Excellent German and English skills; Spanish or French is an advantage
- Very good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills are a plus

- January 2026 in Hamburg, Germany – we are looking for someone based in Hamburg or willing to relocate
