Leibniz-Zentrum für Agrarlandschaftsforschung (ZALF) e.V.

ZALF is a member of the Leibniz Association and is located in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Berlin-Lichtenberg). It also maintains a research station with further locations in Dedelow and Paulinenaue.

The Resource-Efficient Cropping Systems working group develops and models resource-efficient cropping systems for current and future conditions. The development of such cropping systems takes place within our research-practice networks for specific regional, site and farm contexts. Particular attention is paid to soil cultivation regimes as well as to the integration of legumes and new crops like soy into regional cropping systems of conventional and organic agriculture.

The selected applicant will work on the LegumES project that aims to share, showcase, co-develop, and implement the knowledge, key agronomic practices, methodologies, and tools which will allow optimized legume-based systems, and valorization of the ES benefits provided. LegumES is EU-funded, which**** is facilitated by a consortium comprising multiple disciplines and key stakeholder groups including farmers, agronomists, nutritionists, economists, socio-economic scientists, modelers, and advisors; all of whom work especially closely with producers, and with other stakeholders from across the value chain, including processors, consumers, students, and educators.
